TEMPLE GATE FILMS 2022 - THE WAY FORWARD

Rick Balentine

Film making takes an extraordinary amount of dedication, fortitude and courage. You have to LOVE the process and have a driving passion to see the outcome in order to prevail, to actually make the film and have it available to your customers, the audience. The team and I are so excited and encouraged for what is taking place internally, that we are even more driven to succeed above all odds. We have great stories to tell, a GREAT support team of professionals from production to distribution, and we can't wait to launch!

“When people ask me if I went to film school, I tell them, ‘no, I went to films.”

- Quentin Tarantino

We have just laid out the plans for 2022 to 2024 for the films on our slate, with our most immediate project, WILKES COUNTY LINE taking the most immediate slot. On an eye opening call with our distributor, Jeff Deverett, we have had our vision regarding our business model so tweaked that at the end of the call I found myself standing up.

For Indy's, its a bit of the wild west in the best of ways, giving control back to the production companies providing long term benefits for investors, creatives and anyone else involved in ownership.

This is going to be amazing.

Pick up a camera. Shoot something. No matter how small, no matter how cheesy, no matter whether your friends and your sister star in it. Put your name on it as director. Now you’re a director. Everything after that you’re just negotiating your budget and your fee.

- James Cameron.

Always learning, always growing, never coming to the end of what we need to know in mobilizing an army of individuals to tell a story, leaving marks in our history that will live, hopefully, past us.

The biggest thing in my opinion, as crucial as story is to the film, is distribution. A company behind you that can think out of the box and maneuver your product through the maze of channels and give you the best outcome.

We feel we have that going forward, the process that will reap the most benefit to our company that we are chomping at the bit. I would encourage any film maker to consider all the options before us now in getting films out. Covid changed EVERYTHING, but in a good way regarding our business so don't be afraid of taking risks in order to secure the best outcome for your company, your investors and your product.

That's it for now, I hope that 2022 sees the fulfilment of why you were put on this Earth.

Blessings,

Rick
